The 6 in. Super Lizard is the second largest of three lizard baits that includes the 4½ in. Lizard and the 9 in. Big Hawg Lizard. The lizard replicates a lizard, a salamander or a Water Dog (Mud Puppy) that has fallen in the water, and fish hate them all. The Super Lizard is an excellent bait to fish in the spring time during spawning season because it is perceived as a threat to eggs and fry when it enters the bed of a spawning fish. Fish hate lizards so much, they will react to kill them just to remove the threat they present, even when fish aren’t feeding.

Fishing Tips:

Fish the Super Lizard weightless with an offset shank hook; a very effective bait when fished in shallow water over beds and through the holes in grass and lily pads.

The Super Lizard is very buoyant, so rig the Super Lizard Carolina style with a light wire 1/0 or 2/0 hook works very well, allowing the bait to float up and stay off the bottom as you pull the bait through the water.

Another effective rigging technique is to bite the head off the Super Lizard and peg a weight to the body, replacing the head, then use an offset shank hook and hook it through the neck of the body.

The Super Lizard is a good bait to use at night because of its action.
