It is the fall action and the well balanced weight of the Chopstik that makes this bait effective, but another distinction is the quality of the bait itself. Many of our competitors offer similar baits that have earned them the name ‘one fish worm’ — catch one fish on one worm, then throw the worm away. Well, the Chopstik offers the same action as the competition, but our bait offers a greater value because it lasts longer, allowing the angler to catch 3 to 4 times more fish per bait on average than the competition – buy fewer baits and catch more fish means you spend less money on bait. A smaller 4 inch Chopstik bait is also available.

It is popular to fish the Chopstik wacky style, using a 1/0 straight shank hook, hooking the bait in the middle. Drop the worm and let it fall, the ends of the Chopstik will wave as it falls. The action of the Chopstik emulates a worm that has fallen into the water and is drifting down to the bottom.
The Chopstik can be fished Carolina rig and dropshot style.
Ken Starks, Bayou Outdoors’ President, recommends that you fish the Chopstik weightless with a hook at the end. This style of rigging is very effective when fishing around boat docks or other structure in 3 to 6 feet of water. Randy Lowe, Bayou Outdoors’ Production Manager, loves fishing the Chopstik this way. “I catch more fish this way than any other style of rigging when fishing the Chopstik,” states Randy. When weight is needed, use a very light weight, such as a 3/32 oz., or use a light weighted hook. You will want to weight the Chopstik when fishing in 20 to 30 feet of water to keep the fall of the Chopstik steady and straight; otherwise, any current no matter how light will cause your bait to drift off of your target.
